Field season 2023 documentation
The newest version of the Field Season plan for EGRIP 2023 is the plan for the field work, and contains a description of the objectives of the field season, a list of the participants, and various practical and technical information. All field participants must read the field plan to be acquainted with the camp rules, and will be required to sign a liability waiver before deployment to the EastGRIP camp.
You can find the EGRIP Polar Bear Safety Rules 2023 here
To reduce the risk of COVID-19 at EGRIP, please read the EGRIP COVID-19 antigen testing procedure for Kangerlussuaq and for EastGRIP camp here.
The SITREPs (situation reports) are prepared weekly by the Field Operations Managers (FOMs) who run the field office in Kangerlussuaq on the Greenland West coast. All situation reports will be published during the field season when prepared by the FOMs – see links below.
A SITREP contains a summary of the week's main science and logistics activities together with a list of personnel and cargo movements. The SITREPs are logistical and technical reports in contrast to the field diaries that describe the daily life and science progress in the camp.
SITREPs for the field season 2023 will be posted below.
Field diaries are reports prepared by the Field Leader in camp and are accessible here. They contain information on weather, the logistical and scientific activities in camp, and small stories about camp life.
You can also sign up to the eastgrip-diary mailing list, and you will thus receive the field diaries and SITREPS directly from camp. You sign up by following this link: https://mailman.nbi.ku.dk/listinfo/eastgrip-diary. Please note that you cannot reply to this list as all mails, except from the FL and FOMs, will automatically be rejected.
