Sunset
We have been waiting for days for a clear sky so we could see if the sun would dip below the horizon. Tonight was the night were all from camp was out around 22:30 observing the sun disappear below the horizon. The light on the surface was just amazing. We all enjoyed the beauty in the evening -22 ºC temperatures.
What we did today
- Removed the snow melter
- Disconncted and moved the Generator to a winterhill
- Connected the backup generator and placed a bastu in the dome for heating
- Took down the last two weather ports
- Moved all nine weatherport onto sledges and moved them to the winterhills
- Moved the timber and storage sledges to the winterhills
- Documented and organized cooks freezer
- Groomed camp area
- Built the Alabama radar pallet
Weather: Overcast with snowfall most of the day, broken clouds in the evening. Temperatures between -26 ºC and -12 ºC. Wind 4 kt, direction 50T turning to 240T during the evening.
