We often grow some plants in the big windows in the cupula of the Dome. Today we had radish leaves on our salad for dinner and we are hoping the beans might at least flower before we leave.
What we did today:
- Deep drilling core length at 19.00: 6.97 m.
- Drillers depth at 19.00: 850.97 m.
- Shallow drilling of the S3 core: length 8.15 m, depth 133.61 m.
- Temperature logging of the S3 borehole.
- Water vapour, methane, aerosols, snow and boundary layer measurements.
- Physical properties measurements.
- Water isotope sampling for sublimation studies.
- Equipment moved in the White tent on the hardened snow floor.
- Packing of GPS and Drone equipment.
Ad 3: The S3 ice core finalized. The last bag is 242 and all the ice cores are in excellent quality.
Weather: Sunny with scattered clouds, wind 0-6 m/s from W and SW, temperatures -16 °C to -8 °C.
