Packing the camp for winter

 Wednesday 10th of August 2016

Part of the drill tower being lifted with the PistenBully.

Again a packing day. All equipment is now arranged on sledges or stored in the garages. Only two weatherports remain up and most camp personal has moved into the Dome to sleep. We are counting the days to pull out and have a goal to reach each day. Tomorrow the water system and the satellite internet system will be packed.

What we have done today:

  1. Packed all equipment on sledges or stored in garage tents
  2. Packed one more weatherport
  3. Packed a foambox with food for the put in team and placed it under the Dome
  4. Prepared the last pallet for pull out
  5. Groomed the skiway

Weather today: Blue sky all day with groundfog in the early morning hours. Temperatures -27 during night and evening increasing to -13 °C during the day. Wind 5 kn from WSW night and evening increasing to 10 kn from WSW during the day.
