TETRIS Lane

Sunday the 10th of July 2016

TETRIS lane

This is the last day digging and placing beams in the logging corridor in the trenches. A few of the snow blocks on the wall were kept to the last – our TETRIS lane. Cutting snow blocks with a chain saw is very efficient.

What have we done today:

  1. Levelled beams in the logging corridor
  2. Worked on a new main door in the Dome and an extended middle floor
  3. Resampled snow surface profile in the clean snow area
  4. Started digging the second Japanize snow pit
  5. Started to arrange and prepare ice core boxes for retro.
  6. Replaced wireless connection from Dome to satellite disc with a cable

Weather today: Clear sky and mostly sunny. Temperature -10 °C last night increasing to -5 °C during the afternoon and dropping to -10 °C during the evening. Wind 5 kn from SW during the day calming during the evening.
